This entire album is devoted to the music of BILLY STRAYHORN and is called, "LOVESOME”. LENA HORNE sang six of the songs contained within this work: A Flower Is A Lovesome Thing; Maybe; Oo! You Make Me Tingle; Something To Live For;
You Better Know It and You’re The One. During the creation of this album, LENA passed away making this a DOUBLE-TRIBUTE ALBUM, actually. Below I’ve added a little history about some of the songs for your interest!
In honor of my mother, Helen Rose Rizzuto-Lauria-Filippone and Strayhorn’s love for flowers, the songs contained within this album are referred to as The Rose Collection and they are:
